Referendum ignored
Eventhough the results of the referendum clearly shows that people want their full percap back. A tribal council member was telling people that the tribal council isn't going to acknowledge the referendum and the reduced percap payments are going to remain the same. The Meskwaki tribal members are very upset and disgusted with the tribal council.

The tribal council cannot ignore or legally reverse a Tribal Referendum Vote. The referendum results is legally binding.
ReplyDeleteOn, March 11, 2009 a financial presentation was held without showing revenues from the casino, The graphs presented was a waste of time without an money value attached. Misleading information or concealing tribal money is suspicious.
An Audit that tracks every cent and dollar with results sent to every tribal member is the remedy here, to seek the truth. Accountability and transparency are essential to an honest open Tribal Government.
I believe the only way we can get things done is to gather once again and take over the Tribal Operations and oust the Current Council...they can't throw all of us in Jail
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't matter if every cent was properly accounted for, every T crossed and every i dotted. There would still be those of you that would only care about the money - the money no longer going into your own pockets. Accountabliity and transparency may be essential to an honest, open tribal government but that doesn't mean that there are enough tribal members that are intelligent enough to know the truth when they see it. All you people care about is that you no longer have the easy life handed to you. You are lazy and do not want to have to work to support yourselves and your families. You can't just take over and oust the council every time you don't like how it affects YOU. Not every tribal member feels as you do - the rest of us are grown ups who are capable of taking care of ourselves and our families - you are just pathetic.

While others are posting about items concerning good or bad government, you seem content to just ramble on how everyone is lazy and just want money. Try to find a factual item to address. Make sense of what you say. So far as i can see, you are the only one that keeps talking about money. mellow out..
