So if there is no more per cap in the future, maybe you should think about getting JOBS instead of trying to get the tribe to pony up for the basics as you put it. What ever happened to tribal pride and taking care of your own lives? All per cap did was ruin alot of our people and a whole generation of children that have grown up thinking there will always be money even if I decide not to get an education or a job. Why don't you just propose the opening of a welfare office at the tribal offices so all you lazy bums have someplace to go file for all this stuff you think you are entitled to. An ideal future for this tribe would be to stop per cap payments permanently and encourage our people to have a little pride in themselves once more. There's nothing wrong with giving a person or family that is down on their luck a helping hand but to demand hand outs for life just because you are Meskwaki - that just goes against everything our ancestors fought to gain and hold dear for us. You are making a mockery of their sacrifices and what you are proposing would create a tribe full of weaklings too lazy to work for their own existences.
Angry, angry, angry..It's almost funny that you put your posts out here in the old posts where noone hardly looks anymore. However, you still do not make a whole lot of sense no matter where you post. You act as tho all meskwakis handle their money badly. Do YOU recieve per cap? Don't make your experience mirror that of your fellow tribal members. For once and for all, people are not complaining about the reduced per cap as much as the fact that the current (now changing) leadership has gone about doing things the wrong way. You have no idea how these things were /are being done. It's folks like you who never reseach anything and then go blabbling all over the place that make meskwakis look like idiots. We are all fully aware what the founders did for the tribe. The per cap is not a handout. It is a payout to each member of the tribe due to the operation of the casino.THAT is why they voted for the casino in the first place. On this particular thread..we are addressing the evidential idocy of the attorneys that work for the tribe. can you speak to that? i guess not.
